I had a little bit of an issue with my POTD today. I was planning on posting a lunch photo, but when I got it on my computer I noticed it's way out of focus and we can't be posting crap like that! Looks like it'll be anothe KBL photo today! We passed a commercial jet on final as we were heading out. Couldn't help getting excited about doing that next year!
We don't head this way very often, but when we do, it's to pick up a VIP at Kabul Int'l that doesn't show up! We flew through a few times on our last deployment, the most memorable perhaps the day we made an attempt on Pakistan but had to turn back due to crappy weather just south of Lake Sarobi. Today was a little hazy, as always, but the view was great. The road through there is crazy... tunnels, switchbacks, dropoffs... I'm not sure I'd be able to do it, my fear of heights and all.
I posted another angle of this same spot the other day in my AFG Part 2 gallery. There's something about the contrast and formations that are so striking.
